A fascinating and horrible phenomenon that is ISIS is very well handled in this book.The author gives detailed insight into organization, their motives and reasons for war. I like that it is not preachy, the book tries to have some distance in describing and telling the story about the terrorists. If you are interested in ISIS and want to know what is going on besides the usual stuff the news is presenting, this is a book for you.

I set out to read this book to help expand my understanding of the current situation in the Middle East, like many other reviewers here, but I have been utterly disappointed by this book. Whatever message the author was trying to convey was completely lost in what turned out to be an almost unreadable book. The author's understanding of the topic seemed superficial, at best, and the his command of the English language was, sadly, lacking. The book, honestly, felt much like a high school student's school paper, except I would expect better proof-reading from the high school student.
This book is very interesting topic and I really wanted to know about ISIS.
I know that they are harmful people and can kill anyone. But we also need to give them
attention on what are their reasons.
I was ignorant regarding ISIS. I appreciate the time that the author place into this book to inform the reader regarding ISIS. This book provides data regarding the ISIS, who are they and what their doings. This book was long, but all so concise and informative and exciting and that I feel haunted and enlightened. I like the way this book is constructed and explained. Best read!
This is a wonderful book that covers all the ins and outs of what is going on with global terrorism. There have been huge shifts in motivations and the means being used to conduct terrorism. That means in order to get a grip on it and perhaps even defeat it you will need a full understanding of what is motivating these people and to chip away at the motivation itself. This is a heart level issue and you can't deal with it like you would any standard issue on a global issue. There are many things to consider and this book covers all of them!
A well researched book and has some really disturbing facts even for someone like me who has done a lot of reading on the subject. The whole Syria and ISIS conflict is so complicated that I still cannot wrap my mind around it. The involvement of countries around the world in the conflict is disturbing and I am especially worried because ISIS has threatened to flood Europe with half a million migrants and now it is happening as we speak. And while this is an enormous human tragedy, it is also a serious threat to Europe's identity. I will read more from this author.
